Volunteer

EVERY DAY, WE DREAM OF A WORLD WHERE EVERYONE BELONGS.

Use your gifts to help us create it.

Our L’Arche Spokane community gives witness to the beauty and impact of meaningful relationships among people with and without disabilities. Our volunteers are crucial to our success.

The volunteer roles listed below are what typically look for, however, due to Covid restrictions our current volunteer opportunities are limited. Please contact us for more information.

Core Member Connections

Befriend and create a relationship with one of our core members by spending time together and sharing in various activities. Some ideas are thrift store shopping, bowling, swimming, playing card games, watching movies, or going on walks. Whatever you like to do, chances are good that someone at L’Arche Spokane shares the same interest. This volunteer role requires a one-year commitment, and a background check is required.

Gardening

Calling all green thumbs to action! Help us maintain established yard and garden plots at our two homes to make sure we have beautiful yards. Supplies provided.

Yard Work

Enjoy the sunshine while pulling weeds, mowing, edging, raking leaves, etc., at one or both of our two homes. Mower provided.

Light Housekeeping to Deep Cleaning Tasks

With an average of nine people living together, keeping a L’Arche home clean takes a lot of work! Lend a hand to tidy up our living spaces by cleaning the kitchen, giving bathrooms a quick once-over, or helping with laundry various daily needs in the house. Jobs could also entail cleaning windows, deep cleaning in kitchens and bathrooms, shampooing carpets and upholstery, Cleaning supplies provided.

Meals

Another popular option is to provide a home-cooked dinner for one of our two houses–and stay and eat with us! We deeply appreciate our volunteer cooks and the joy of having them at the table. Food Handler’s card or certificate required.

Fundraising Events and Activities

Volunteer to help with our Celebrating Transformation fundraiser, at our Christmas Tree Lot, or at other activities. Many hands make light work.
